Stress Management Using Mindful Awareness


Stress has become a major threat for today’s people. Stress has become not only a psychological problem but also a physical threat. It could be understandable to see how stress has become contagious in our modern lives. The hectic environment, work load, non-stop information transferred by media, the mobility demands has made daily life become unbearable. The result is the stress occurs easily and makes the live quality descend.

One way that being reference to reduce or even away from stress is by being mindful. Mindful according to Sylvia Boorstein is “the aware, balanced acceptance of the present experience. It isn’t more complicated than that. It is opening to or receiving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is, without either clinging to it or rejecting it.” We can simply conclude that being mindful is being present and accepting the experience around the present moment.

So how does being mindful works on stress. Well being mindful is a way to accept the present experience with openness, whether the experience is a pleasant or unpleasant. Being mindful demands you to allow unpleasant experience rather than getting rid of it.
Being mindful is constructed by meditation practice every day. Daily exercise is demand in order to bring mindfulness condition in all daily routine. With that mindful is a matter of being rather than doing.
